Attorney Jason Zapf was born and raised in Kenosha, Wisconsin, and is a graduate of Shoreland Lutheran High School. After high school, he attended Carthage College, also in Kenosha, Wisconsin, where he obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science.
Attorney Zapf attended Western Michigan University Cooley Law School, where he was a member of the Incorporated Society of Irish American Lawyers. He also worked for the Innocence Project, which focuses on using DNA evidence to overturn wrongful convictions. Following graduation, he returned to his hometown of Kenosha, Wisconsin.
Attorney Zapf then joined the Kenosha County District Attorney’s Office, becoming the third generation of his family to work in Kenosha law enforcement after his father, a District Attorney, and his great-uncle, the Deputy Chief of Police for the Kenosha Police Department. Attorney Zapf began working as an intern and Special Prosecutor before being hired as an Assistant District Attorney. As a Prosecutor, Attorney Zapf handled thousands of cases, including traffic, domestic abuse, child abuse, drugs, sexual assault, and homicide. Attorney Zapf was also the lead state prosecutor in a joint state and federal task force, in one of the largest drug enforcement operations in the history of southeastern Wisconsin, which crippled a large heroin trafficking ring. Attorney Zapf gained extensive trial and advocacy experience, and he continues to use on behalf of his clients today.
Following a significant time at the Kenosha County District Attorney’s Office, Attorney Zapf transitioned full-time into personal injury law. He joined Gruber Law Offices and focuses solely on personal injury law. He continues to use his vast experience and skillset to help injured victims and their families receive compensation and a just result.
Attorney Zapf has also worked over the years to better his hometown outside of the courtroom as well, spending time working and volunteering with Western Kiwanis, Little Leaguers of Kenosha, the Kenosha Area Soccer League, and the Shalom Center. He enjoys playing music on multiple instruments and is a passionate supporter of the Bucks, Packers, and Brewers. Attorney Zapf lives in Kenosha with his wife, their three children, and their Boxer Samson.
